Luther School Directions

  • May 28, 2020

    Dear Luther School community,

During the month of June, Luther School will begin to shift how we conduct our remote learning to help increase student engagement and bring a positive ending to the school year.

    Week 1: June 1-5

The focus of this week will be for teachers and students to bring closure to their current units of study.  The week will allow for reading classes to finish reading their current books, writing classes to make any final improvements to their writing assignments, and opportunities to complete unfinished activities or any makeup work.

    Week 2: June 8-12

The focus of this week will be for students to turn off their computers, video games, cell phones, and other electronics.  Luther School will be providing families in all grades with engaging activities that promote exercise, reading, being outdoors, spending time with family, and helping their community.  Specific suggestions for activities are found in the attached Calendar of Events.  The order of activities may need to be switched depending on weather.

    Week 3: June 15-19

The focus of this week will be on bringing closure to this school year.  Students will be participating in transition activities during our virtual step-up day.  There will be opportunities to participate in their favorite specials activities, participate in Google Meets with their peers and teachers to check-in and say goodbye as well as viewing our Grade 5 Virtual Promotion Ceremony.  Please see the attached Calendar of Events to see the specific dates for these activities and events.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to provide our students and families with a positive and engaging ending to this school year.

    Sincerely,

    Sean Scanlon

Please see below for a frequently asked questions (FAQ) document from Superintendent Robidoux.  Luther School teachers are currently conducting remote learning through their Google Classrooms.  If you have questions about the remote learning activities please email the teacher directly.  We appreciate your patience while teachers work to develop meaningful remote learning activities that will support student learning.
