Dear Luther School community,
The start of a new school year is fast approaching. The first day of school for students at Luther School is Tuesday, August 27, 2019. I am looking forward to getting to know all of our new students and families. The school day start and end times have not been changed. Homeroom will continue to begin at 8:35 a.m. and students may be dropped off beginning at 8:20 a.m. The school day ends at 3:05 p.m. and parent pick-up begins at 2:55 p.m.
During the 2019-2020 school year, Luther School families can look forward to the following improvements:
More information will be provided at our Luther School Open House scheduled for Tuesday, September 10 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Our complete 2019-2020 School Improvement Plan can be found under the Our School drop down menu on our school website.
I would like to introduce the new members of the Luther School faculty. Ms. Olivia Parry will now be our Grade 5 Math Teacher, Mrs. Diane Scherny will join Mrs. Abrain as our Elementary Art Teachers, Ms. Katie Dawson will be a Paraprofessional for our special education programming, and Mrs. Valerie Bushell will be our Elementary Computer Science Teacher.
I have enclosed the school’s newsletter that I will be publishing on a monthly basis, the parent drop-off /pick-up protocols and information, and a blank student information sheet that students should bring to school completed on the first day of school. It is also important to note that anyone dismissing or picking up a child or attending a meeting must have a government issued photo I.D.
I am looking forward to meeting students and parents as well as doing everything I can to help your children succeed. If you have any questions, please contact me at your convenience.

This letter is to inform you of the Swansea Public School Student Reunification Plan, in the event that a full evacuation from any of our schools is required due to an unforeseen emergency situation. A full evacuation means that a determination has been made based upon the scenario that returning to the school building is not in the best interest of students and staff. In this instance, please adhere to the following guidelines:
