The case came to national attention around the same time as that of Ryan White in Indiana, and helped many young HIV-positive children attend schools throughout the country. Mark Hoyle died one year later, and a new elementary school was named in his honor.
Mark Gardiner Hoyle Elementary School was dedicated on August 16,1992
and opened for the 1992-1993 school year.
This school stands in tribute to and in memory of Mark Gardiner Hoyle.
Given by the citizens of Swansea, a town where compassion and understanding prevailed,

“A winner never quits and
a quitter never wins, it's never too late to rally.”
