2020-2021 Welcome Letter

2020-2021 Welcome Letter

The year 2020 has brought us many, many challenges. As we enter this school year, it is important, more now than ever, to model positivity and to be flexible given the ongoing changes occurring almost daily. There have been hours and hours of planning and discussion to ensure that we can move forward with the safety of all staff and students at the forefront. Within the backdrop of safety, teaching and learning still needs to occur which means there needs  to be connectivity to students in ways that are meaningful. The Hybrid model makes that task difficult, but certainly not impossible! Face-to-face connections are always best, but allowing those times to be coupled with meaningful virtual connectivity is what will help this school year be successful.

I appreciate all of the time and effort it takes to embrace and implement change, but as educators, that is our collective role. I have confidence that the Swansea educators and administrators will work together for the same common goal of educating our students in the most appropriate manner possible.

There will be challenges, there will be questions, and there will be decisions that are all new to us in this COVID era. Together we have to embrace the fluid nature of the world around us and find ways to continue to forge ahead so that we can get to the ‘other side’ of this crisis. When we get back to some semblance of normalcy, we will all be better, stronger and more equipped to create even more enhanced educational environments for our students.

We Are All Cardinals...we must stick together, we must work through the challenges and we must persevere.

Stay safe and Be well
