2018-2019 Welcome Letter

Dear members of our Swansea community,

As Superintendent of Schools, I am honored to work in a district where our educators live and breath our motto, “Students Come First.” I feel blessed to be surrounded by hard-working staff that, regardless of their role, have the best interest of our students at heart. I am truly humbled by the ongoing collaboration between the individual schools and the community at large. Together we have built a stronger community and have all had a part in helping our students grow.

Swansea Public Schools has, as an entity, demonstrated growth relative to academic achievement, social emotional learning and in ensuring the safety of our students, staff and community partners. We have continued to forge the way in all of these aforementioned areas, however, there is always room for further growth. We are committed to finding ways to collaborate and work toward our goals of inclusivity, connectivity and community-building so that students are actively engaged in teaching and learning throughout every classroom across the district.

I am proud of the work that is taking place and I am proud of the work that will continue because of the connections our educators and administrators have made with each other, with our students, and with our community partners. This will continue to be an area of focus that will be fostered through ongoing discussions, meetings, professional development, input and outreach to all stakeholders.

Together we will make this school year a positive one and together we will continue to raise the bar for all students!

Be well,

John J. Robidoux
