The Swansea School Committee shared my 2016-2017 Superintendent Evaluation at the December 11, 2017 meeting and I felt it prudent to publicly post the results here on our website.
I consider myself lucky to be the Superintendent of Swansea Public Schools. Working side-by-side with Assistant Superintendent, Elizabeth White has lent a necessary balance, given her leadership style and wealth of knowledge, as we navigate the day-to-day operations of the district. I am extremely proud of our administrative team as they all wholeheartedly embrace our "Students Come First" motto, which is evident in the work they do each day. More importantly, though, the teachers, nurses, counselors, specialists, paraprofessionals and parents/guardians that work directly with our students are the key to success, without which, the students could not make positive strides.
In reviewing the evaluation, I can say that I am pleased with the overall ratings and am grateful that the Committee recognized all of the work that has been done during my first year as Superintendent. There are also areas of growth that were identified in the evaluation and I am committed to embracing further dialogue and am hopeful that, with the appropriate feedback, I will be able to rectify these concerns moving forward.
